St.Peterburg congratulates Prague: the ICCA Congress 2017 will be held in Czech Republic
On 18th May 2014 in Frankfurt After presentations from the three shortlisted destinations, Gdansk in Poland, the Czech Republic capital of Prague and Russian city St. Petersburg, ICCA President Arnaldo Nardone on behalf of the ICCA Board of Directors announced the winning destination at the ICCA Mid-Year meetings at IMEX.
Mr. Nardone greatly appreciated the presentation of all contenders saying that competition was stiff but all the candidates have demonstrated professionalism and creativity in the preparation of presentations. And by the decision of the ICCA Board of Directors Congress 2017 will be held in Prague.
It was a great honor for St. Petersburg to participate in the bid, particularly as it was the first time when the Russian destination was shortlisted as a potential host city for the ICCA Congress, one of the key events in the global meetings industry. Each year it attracts more than 900 companies-members of the Association from all over the world: the leading event organizers, international hotel chains, airlines, travel agencies, convention bureaus, and many others take part in a key event in meetings industry.
